Lewis Lewis was a well-known Welsh immigrant who resided in Homestead. He was best remembered as the Drum Major of the first brass band to have ever been organized within Homestead.

He died in his residence on Fifth Avenue, Homestead, on November 30, 1901, from typhoid fever, thought to have been contracted during a visit to his former home in Wales the previous summer. He had signed his will just two days prior, entrusting all to his wife, Henrietta, who survived him.
